Audi · Q5 · B9 Generation
The Q5's 2.0 TDI shares its EA288 engine with much of the VW Group range, and it's a strong performer under a Stage 1 remap. Given the Q5's weight, the extra torque is where you'll feel the biggest transformation — overtaking and motorway driving feel noticeably more relaxed.

Stage 1 & Stage 2
The EA288 2.0 TDI is one of the most consistent engines to remap across the VW Group range. Factory software leaves real headroom for a properly calibrated Stage 1 file, with no hardware changes needed.
A Stage 1 remap on the Q5 requires no hardware modifications. We recalibrate boost, fuelling and torque delivery within the engine's safe limits — the extra torque is especially noticeable given the SUV's weight.
Stage 2 pairs a custom map with supporting hardware, pushing the EA288 further while staying within safe margins for the quattro drivetrain.
What Changes
On the Q5 we recalibrate boost pressure, fuelling and torque delivery. The result is a broader, flatter torque curve that makes the SUV feel far less strained when carrying weight or towing.
Factory boost is set conservatively to suit every market and fuel grade the Q5 is sold with. We raise it to a level the turbo can comfortably sustain.
Fuel delivery is recalibrated to match the new boost levels precisely, improving response without hurting reliability.
We smooth out the torque curve so power arrives earlier and holds for longer — useful given the Q5's weight.
We sharpen the throttle map so the car responds the moment you press the pedal, useful for overtaking and motorway joins.

A quality remap modifies the ECU's calibration data rather than adding any external hardware. It leaves no physical trace and does not trigger warning lights.
All work is carried out at our workshop in Ammanford, which also has a MAHA 4WD dyno for before/after verification.
Yes — the EA288 2.0 TDI shared across the VW Group is well proven under tuning and responds consistently. The extra torque is particularly noticeable given the Q5's weight, making the SUV feel noticeably more relaxed at motorway speeds.
No — a Stage 1 remap only recalibrates the engine's ECU software. The quattro all-wheel-drive system and gearbox are unaffected and continue to operate within their normal parameters.
