Remapping & tuning for Brecon and Powys drivers
Brecon is the longest run of our regular coverage area, and people do not make it casually — so it is worth being straight about what makes the trip worthwhile. Almost always it is one of three things: a vehicle that tows, a vehicle that spends its life on sustained climbs, or a job that needs an actual rolling road rather than a laptop in a car park.

Tuning for hills, towing and the Beacons
Driving in and around Bannau Brycheiniog asks something specific of an engine: not a big peak power figure, but torque that holds up over a long climb without the gearbox hunting or the turbo running out of breath. A well-built map targets exactly that band.

Getting to us from Brecon
We are at Unit 1F, Cwmgors Industrial Estate, Park Howard Rd, Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen, Ammanford, SA18 1PA — roughly 30 miles from Brecon, and realistically about 45 to 50 minutes, because the second half is national park road rather than dual carriageway.
Take the A40 west out of Brecon to Sennybridge, then turn south onto the A4067 over the tops and down the Swansea Valley through Abercraf and Ystradgynlais, and on to Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen. In poor winter weather allow longer — the A4067 climbs properly, and it is worth checking conditions before you set off.
