Stage 1 — software only

Stage 1 is a pure software remap with no hardware changes required. We recalibrate boost, fuelling, ignition timing and torque limiters within the safe margins already built into your standard hardware.

It’s the most popular stage for good reason: no downtime for parts fitting, no compromise to daily driveability, and gains that are very noticeable from the moment you drive away — typically 15–30% more power and torque depending on the engine.

Stage 2 — software plus supporting mods

Stage 2 builds on Stage 1 software with modest hardware upgrades — usually a freer-flowing intake, a less restrictive exhaust, or an uprated intercooler. These remove the small bottlenecks that limit how far the software alone can safely push things.

Because the hardware is doing some of the work, the map is tailored specifically to those modifications. This is why a generic Stage 2 file downloaded online is a bad idea — it needs to match your exact parts.

Rule of thumb: if your car has aftermarket intake or exhaust hardware fitted, it should be running a map calibrated for that setup, not a generic Stage 1 file.

Stage 3 — full custom conversion

Stage 3 is where things get serious: larger turbo(s), upgraded fuelling system, forged internals in some cases, and a fully bespoke map built around that specific combination of parts. There’s no fixed number for Stage 3 — it’s built to the car in front of us.

This is the territory of dedicated project cars and track builds rather than daily drivers, and it’s always done with dyno time built in to get the tune genuinely right rather than guessed at.

So which stage is right for you?

If you want a meaningfully sharper, faster car with zero compromise to reliability or daily use, Stage 1 covers the vast majority of drivers. Stage 2 suits those who’ve already got, or are planning, supporting hardware. Stage 3 is for a specific goal — a track car, a show car, or simply wanting the absolute maximum the engine platform can give.
