The B47 diesel is BMW's most popular modern four-cylinder diesel, used from 150hp to 231hp across the range. The 190hp 520d has the same hardware as the 231hp 525d — only the software differs.
A Stage 1 remap requires no hardware modifications. Our specialist software recalibrates boost, fuelling and ignition timing within the engine’s safe limits, delivering instant, driveable gains.
What Changes
Boost, fuelling and injection pressure are recalibrated on the B47. The torque increase — particularly in the mid-range — transforms the 520d's motorway ability and makes overtaking genuinely effortless. Economy improves at cruise.
Factory boost is set conservatively. We raise it to the level the turbo and internals can comfortably sustain, unlocking power that was always there.
Fuel delivery is recalibrated to match new boost levels precisely — giving a cleaner burn, better response and improved efficiency under light loads.
Timing is advanced where the engine can safely benefit, improving combustion efficiency and delivering more torque across the full rev range.
The factory throttle map is deliberately muted. We sharpen it so the car responds the moment you press the pedal — no lag, no hesitation.
