Toyota builds a lot of margin into the D-4D's factory calibration to keep it reliable across every market it's sold in. A properly written Stage 1 file safely unlocks power and torque the engine already has, with no hardware changes.
A Stage 1 remap on the Hilux requires no hardware modifications. Turbo lag is noticeably reduced and torque arrives earlier — useful both on-road and off it.
Stage 2 pairs a custom map with supporting hardware to push the D-4D further while staying within safe operating margins.
What Changes
