ECU & TCU Cloning

Copying everything from a faulty engine or gearbox ECU, including the software, calibration and immobiliser data, onto an identical donor unit. The donor then works in the car as if it were the original, with no dealer coding and no new keys.

The original unit and a donor with the same hardware and software number, which is printed on the label. If you have not got a donor yet we can usually advise where to find one; the unit number on this page is what to search for.

Often. Many faults are in the power stages or drivers while the memory that holds the data is intact. If the original cannot be read at all, cloning is not possible and we will tell you before any work is done.

They are the ways the unit is read. Bench means through the connector on the workbench without opening it. Boot and BDM mean the case is opened and the processor read directly, which takes longer, hence the higher price. Where a range is shown, the top of it covers units that need extra work inside.

Some units need the donor adapted to the vehicle after the copy rather than being a straight 1-to-1 copy. The price range covers that extra step, and we confirm the exact figure once we have seen the unit.

Usually not. For most clones we only need the two units, so you can post them to us or drop them in. A few units are best finished with the car here, and we will tell you if yours is one of them, or bring it if you want us to remove and refit the unit.
