Volkswagen · Caddy · 2016–Present
The Caddy's 2.0 TDI is a proven workhorse engine shared across the VW Group, and it responds well to a Stage 1 remap. Whether it's your daily tools-and-ladders van or a small fleet vehicle, the extra torque makes a real difference when it's loaded.

Stage 1 & Stage 2
The EA288 2.0 TDI is one of the most consistent engines to remap in the VW Group range. Factory software leaves real headroom for a properly calibrated Stage 1 file, with no hardware changes needed.
A Stage 1 remap on the Caddy requires no hardware modifications. We recalibrate boost, fuelling and torque delivery within the engine's safe limits — most owners notice it first when pulling away loaded.
Stage 2 typically pairs a custom map with a free-flowing exhaust and uprated intercooler, pushing the EA288 further while staying within safe operating margins.
What Changes
On the Caddy we recalibrate boost pressure, fuelling and torque delivery. The result is a flatter, stronger torque curve lower in the rev range — exactly where a loaded van spends most of its time.
Factory boost is set conservatively to suit every market and fuel grade the Caddy is sold with. We raise it to a level the turbo can comfortably sustain.
Fuel delivery is recalibrated to match the new boost levels precisely, improving response without hurting reliability.
We smooth out the torque curve so power arrives earlier and holds for longer — useful when carrying a full load.
The factory throttle map is deliberately muted. We sharpen it so the van responds the moment you press the pedal.

A quality remap modifies the ECU's calibration data rather than adding any external hardware. It leaves no physical trace and does not trigger warning lights.
All work is carried out at our workshop in Ammanford, which also has a MAHA 4WD dyno for before/after verification.
For most Caddy owners the appeal is driveability rather than economy — the extra torque means less throttle needed to maintain speed when loaded, which can offset the running costs somewhat, though the main benefit is how much less strained the van feels.
Very much so. The Caddy's 2.0 TDI is a strong, well-proven engine with real headroom in the factory map. Owners typically notice the difference most when the van is loaded or on motorway inclines.
