The B48 is BMW's most advanced four-cylinder, shared with the Toyota GR Supra 2.0 and MINI John Cooper Works GP. It's a robust, over-engineered unit with clear headroom built in at the M135i's 306hp factory output.
A Stage 1 remap requires no hardware modifications. Our specialist software recalibrates boost, fuelling and ignition timing within the engine’s safe limits, delivering instant, driveable gains.
What Changes
Boost pressure, fuelling and ignition are recalibrated on the B48. The result is stronger mid-range pull and a noticeably sharper throttle — making the xDrive's all-wheel-drive traction even more effective off the line.
Factory boost is set conservatively. We raise it to the level the turbo and internals can comfortably sustain, unlocking power that was always there.
Fuel delivery is recalibrated to match new boost levels precisely — giving a cleaner burn, better response and improved efficiency under light loads.
Timing is advanced where the engine can safely benefit, improving combustion efficiency and delivering more torque across the full rev range.
The factory throttle map is deliberately muted. We sharpen it so the car responds the moment you press the pedal — no lag, no hesitation.

The M140i F20 with its B58 six-cylinder has more headroom and a higher ceiling. A remapped M135i (360hp) is quick, but the remapped M140i (420hp) is in a different league — especially on sound and character.
Yes — the Stage 1 remap doesn't affect driveability or economy at cruise. The car simply responds better when you want it to, and remains perfectly docile in normal driving.
